Lt Commander Lauren Hodges volunteered for a very special role in Bristol. She joined the team of volunteer medics from HMS PRINCE OF WALES, the aircraft carrier affiliated to Bristol, to assist in the roll out of the vaccine at Ashton Gate Stadium. Lauren did her nursing training in Bristol and was pleased to return to the City. On the day that she passed her selection to Lt Cdr, she was surprised by a video conference from the Lord-Lieutenant for Bristol, Mrs Peaches Golding OBE CStJ, herself an Honorary Captain in the Royal Naval Reserve. Lauren was joined on the call by her current boss, Carolyn Jones. ‘I am so proud of the enormous contribution you are making to keep Bristol safe through this vaccine roll out,’ Peaches told Lauren. Lauren will be returning to the Ship in April.
