The Youth Club on Wheels makes its first outing!

Young Bristol's new minibus - 'The Youth Club on Wheels' -  was launched this week.  The minibus is kitted out with a games console, i-Pads and games and it has space to study.  A large screen can be mounted at the rear of the bus where television, films or other broadcast material can be projected to a large audience.  Bristol has reportedly lost 25 youth clubs over recent years and the Youth Club on Wheels will target particular communities where young people can be encouraged to veer away from getting into trouble. A recent Parliamentary report highlighted that areas without youth provision tend also to have high crime levels. Initially the minibus will be visiting Shirehampton, Avonmouth and Henbury and communities further afield to provide a place where young people can learn new skills, meet other teenagers and spend time together.  £90,000 to purchase and equip the bus were raised with tremendous support from Heart Radio listeners.
