Ghana Community Bristol Gala Dinner
26 July 2025

Peaches Golding OBE joined members of the Ghana Community Bristol to celebrate Ghanaian culture and contributions to the area at their annual Gala Dinner. Among the guests were Bristol's Lord Mayor, leaders from South Gloucestershire Council, a representative of the Ghana High Commission, other dignitaries and more. The colourful and joyful event promoted inclusivity, diversity and the fostering of community engagement. 'As part of the cultural activities during the evening, the dignitaries were escorted into the Dinner by the Chief and his councillors. He explained the important role of the Chief and he served his community. I was delighted to speak about the importance of trust and inclusivity in building strong and resilient communities capable of meeting all the challenges that face us all,' Peaches explained. There was plenty of dancing to traditional highlife music and delicious Ghanaian foods for the three course dinner. Members of the Ghanaian community contribute to the local area through their work in government, the health service, education, the defence sector and more.
