Bristol's first Alabaré home for Veterans

Alabaré, the organisation dedicated to Christian Care and Support, opened its first home in the City of Bristol for veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.  The home will provide six veterans with private bedrooms together with communal reception rooms, kitchen and ample garden and parking space.  The house, located on a bus route and close to local amenities, will also house support workers on hand to advise or assist with needs as diverse as health to benefits.  HM Lord-Lieutenant Mrs Peaches Golding OBE joined Andrew Lord (Chief Executive of Alabaré), local Councillor Donald Alexander and local staff members Harrison and Bianca for the launch.  'I welcome the housing provision by Alabaré and can imagine how beneficial it will be to the veterans that will live here.  I am thrilled to declare the home open. This supportive environment will provide great encouragement for its residents to take their next steps into employment in our City,' remarked Peaches Golding.
